As a result of the current COVID-19 outbreak, some more municipalities have taken measures in relation to property rates relieve to property owners.
According to the Western Cape Government’s website, the following measures of relief are/have been put into action:

- Stellenbosch Municipality will provide a payment reprieve/holiday on property rates for three months. In addition, homeless residents in the Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Klapmuts areas are being accommodated in temporary accommodation.
- Oudtshoorn Municipality has undertaken various measures including exempting the billing of interest on all overdue consumers’ accounts for a period of four (4) months from March 2020 – June 2020.
- In Bergrivier Municipality, people who were placed on a controlled water management system, now have full access to water for the duration of the National State of Disaster. Credit control on outstanding accounts is also being relaxed.
